Under normal circumstances, the blood nourishes with oxygen but in a heart attack, the blood cannot carry enough oxygen for heart muscles. Due to the cutoff oxygen, the heart muscles begin to die. Biological name of heart attack is myocardial infarction.
Generally, many people have warnings signs before a heart attack, while some people have not early signs or symptoms.
Reported symptoms and warnings signs:
- Chest pain
- Upper body pain
- Short breath
- High blood pressure
Causes of Heart Attack
A few situations that can be responsible for heart attack. Plaque storage in arteries most common cause because of blood cannot reach to the heart muscles.
Sometime heart blockage may be caused by blood clot or broken blood vessel. Least heart attack can be caused by vessel spasm.
- Chest pain
- Arm pain
- Back pain
It can be different according to gender.
Factor affecting Heart Attack (myocardial infarction)
There are numerous factors that may affect health and leads to the person towards a heart attack. Some of the factors are involuntary which cannot be modified.
- High cholesterol
- Lack of exercise
- Alcohol consumption
- Anxiety, stress
Complications due to Heart Attack (myocardial infarction)
Many complications are attached heart attack but two entirely severe:
- Heart failure
Heart failure occurs due to the supply of blood cut off during a heart attack, so, it is difficult to survive. Generally, the patient of heart failure will succumb hardly.
The heart has a certain rhythm which is disturbed by a heart attack and may sometimes rupture the vessels. The disturbance in heartbeat rhythm is called arrhythmia.
Heart attack badly effects valves and in some cases the valves stop working.
There are two types of treatment:
- Non- surgical
Angioplasty: Angioplasty in this procedure the blocked artery opens with a balloon and removes the plaque from arteries.
Stent: a stent is like a little spring wire that inserts in an artery to remain open after removing plaque in Angioplasty.
Heart valve replacement: heart valve malfunction will be replaced or treated by surgery to ensure a proper blood flow from the heart to the body.
Heart bypass: Heart bypass surgery is one of the major surgery to remove the blockage.
Heart transplant and pacemaker: A heart transplant becomes part and parcel after permanent heart problems such as heart attack and permanent tissue damage. A pacemaker helps to keep heart rhythmic.
